Our practice name, Care First, reflects the high value we place
on the relationship between provider and patient. In a practice
that emphasizes the partnership between doctor and patient in
understanding and treating health issues, Dr. Taylor and the
entire Care First team strive to:
o Find a good balance between understanding the person and
identifying their Illness(es)
o Be thorough in arriving at a diagnosis and a treatment plan
o Consider how life stresses and sources of support affect a person’s health
o Provide an office atmosphere that is very comfortable for
patients
o Use processes that facilitate good preventative care
o Focus on clear communication with patients
o Enable prompt access (the same day, if possible) to care in the office
Dr. Taylor provides care for patients aged eight and older.
Patients who require hospitalization are admitted to Los Alamos
Medical Center, where he is actively involved on the Medical
Staff. He not only does routine adult and adolescent medical
care, but also gynecological exams, minor surgery, freezing of
skin lesions (cryotherapy), treating
minor injuries, and even the occasional house call. Dr. Taylor,
like most Family Practitioners, handles about 80 to 90 percent
of his patients medical needs, but is glad to refer to
specialists for the more complex or serious conditions.
